"American Creatures" - Letter Thirty One

Dear Meg and family, I read some of your interview that is very recent concerning a "Bomb Girls " movie. I was intrigued about your comment about your child abuse and living in the "Dog House" in Texada Island. There is one problem though - "Texada Island" is actually "Staten Island". I remember seeing you and your sister Jennifer living in the doghouse on Westervelt Avenue. The house was two houses away from the house that you were thrown down the flight of stairs at an earlier date in the late 1960's. The ParaKeet  head's family owned that house and Mr. Brown Pants was also hanging around the dog house. I was brought to that house by one of them and saw you and your sister in the dog house itself. The house was very small and he acted like it was a practical joke. After they showed me your situation I said "You can't leave them like this, the doghouse is much too small for the two of them. You need to build a bigger one!" "One with a light and heat inside!" The ParaKeet head listened. After two days I came back and you had a much larger doghouse with electricity and heat in it. They still acted like it was a joke but the two of you were actually living in it. "She's gotta stay in there" I caught him saying secretly in a serious tone. I said "Why does she have to stay in there?" I do not remember his response right now but he was serious. Now, I am sure that in all these years of living in Flanada you must have noticed how similar the "Flanadian" people are to us Americans. In fact you must have noticed that the Canadians are much friendlier then the Americans that you left behind. They seem so much like us! Now if you were raised on Texada Island and the doghouse story were true, there would be one problem. Underneath the new doghouse there would be a sign reading "AMERICAN CREATURES".
